Hi! I can't wait until May! I have recently moved from South Lyon, MI to Toronto, Ontario (husband's job transfer) and REFUSE to miss this year's event! I'm taking three classes on Thursday and have also signed up for the crop night on Thursday. This will be my 3rd year at the Mega Meet and my first time at a crop. How do the individual crop seats work? I'm feeling a little lonely, but really want to try a crop night! Did I mention that I can't wait!!!!

The individual crop seats mean you can sit at any table that doesn't have a number on it! (The numbers go on the reserved tables!) If you meet others on the message boards or want to meet up with old friends - you can sit together at any of the un-numbered tables. Our crop crew does a great job of trying to make sure that people who want to sit together GET to sit together!

If you are coming all alone - that's OK - because you are sure to make friends with your table neighbors before the night ends!!

I think that there is another thread on here of folks trying to meet up at the crops!

Hey Kate- do you think it would be possible to block off an area of tables for individuals on the message board?? There seems to be a bunch of people that want to sit together, and we still have 6+ weeks to go...

Just a thought...it might be kinda cool!

It's possible I could do something like that for the THursday night crop only...Friday has nearly twice as many people, with pretty much every seat taken, so I know I can't on that night...

Stacy--Thanks for trying to make it work! It will be fun to meet new "scrappy friends"!!

Since we've moved, I have not cropped nearly as much as I used to! The Scrapbook Zone has totally spoiled me--I have not found anywere that is even comparable here in the Toronto area (maybe I'm missing something.....???). I'm really looking forward to meeting a fun group of girls to crop the night away with!

I think I'll check out some of the other message boards here and see what's happening!

I have not heard of that one yet! (and we even live in Mississauga!!! seems like I need to get out from under my rock!)....Looks like I might have something to do on Monday while my son is in pre-school! I'll let you know what the actual store is like!

Okay, I have to share a quick story!

We moved from our home in South Lyon about 4 months ago to the Toronto area for my husband's job (Northwest Airlines)...... My son, husband and dog have adjusted quite well (that goodness!). The cat and I have had a hard time with the move (on many levels)....one of the tings is miss is that I had my very own scrapbook room in the old house that I simply adored!!! (built in L-shaped counters, tons of shelves and drawers, even the cool white 12x12 paper racks that the scrapbook stores use for display)....Well, here in Toronto, my scrapbook room is far from that (I use the 4th bedroom of our house) and it's just a disaster (unorganized, small, cluttered)...does not make you really feel like croping. Well, my son and I were back home visiting my parents earlier this week....and when we came back to Toronto I found that my husband had spent the 4 days we were gone making me my "new" scrapbook room. He painted, built in an L-shaped table, added shelves, etc. I cried. I loved it!!! It was a true "Trading Spaces" moment. I can't wait to get started scrapbooking again!!

Oh WOW! Sounds like you really have a keeper, there! What a wonderful thing to do for you!

Welcome to Ontario! I live in London and I know what you mean. Scrapbook Zone is totally awesome to say the least. I have attended the Great Lakes Mega Meet the last couple of years and at the same time managed to get to the Scrapbook Zone - thanks to the advertisement in the Mega Meet booklet. I am anxiously awaiting May - just to be able to get away to Novi for the convention and visit the Scrapbook Zone.
My husband sounds alot like yours - he helped me with my scrapbook room last year - and I just love it!
As for London - we have the Scrapbook Studio in North London. But it would be at least 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours from Mississauga. I know there are a couple of stores in the Kitchener/Waterloo area as well.
Now that you have your new scrapbook room, I am sure that you will be right back to scrapping again.

You actually have many options for stores.....
They might be small as far as square footage..but
they hold alot of stock.
