Post Cricut for fabric/felt
Has anyone ever used their Cricut to cut fabric or felt? I read that it can be done but I just wondered if anyone has tried it and how well it works on fabric.
Appreciate any info Cool

hmmm - i would think that the fabric would have to be backed with some iron-on backer type or something, as a start....and really thin...hmmm, hmm, hmmm.....

I haven't tried - and I would worry that felt would be too thick. Fabric I think might work though. You might want a separate blade for fabric vs paper - kind of like you have separate scissors!

I believe I'm read where you can cut fabric and quilt with the cuttlebug/big shot. I don't recall seeing or hearing about using the cricut.

We have had infomcericals on the Cricut here in Ohio...usually on Saturday afternoons. I think I recall that you could do fabric. I'm sure you would need a different blade as Kate mentioned. Did you try the Cricut website? They probably have a toll free number to call too...Hope this helps.

Post Yes U can!
THANX EVERYONE!
I actually caught the Cricut infomercial yesturday and they said you COULD cut fabric & felt. And, just as Cara said, you do need to put a heat backing on it...just iron it on and then stick it on the cutting mat. Good idea Brendicott on calling them.
I might try it. If I do, I'll report back here how it went.
