In the spirit of the Summer Olympics in Beijing this year, the GLMM's themes are Olympic related this year!  Our slogan for 2008 is "One World, One MEGA Event"  Join us for our all new event on the evening of Wednesday, May 7th - our "Opening Ceremonies" - replacing the Sneak Peek.

There will be 500 tickets available to our Opening Ceremonies event, featuring a keynote by none other than Stacy Julian!  Let Stacy inspire you to approach your scrapping in a whole new way!  You'll find yourself inspired and no longer bound by what you thought were the "rules" of scrapbooking!

Enjoy hors d'ouvres, beverages, and previews from vendors, as well as prizes in addition to Stacy's keynote address at this ALL NEW event on Wednesday night before the show opens!

Don't miss out on the Parade of Nations contest!  It will be a great way to kick off your Scrap-lympic weekend!!

This event is considered "business casual" (In other words - no holey jeans - we want this to be a classy time!!)

Since this is a new event, you’ve got some questions – and here are our answers to the FAQs:

Q – This is a long event.  What are we going to do?
A – Unlike the Sneak Peek party, this is not a make and take night - it's a reception and a keynote address. During reception part of this event we will have refreshments and other goodies to make it a high class kick-off to the Mega Meet.  You will feel pampered and spoiled!  They’ll be plenty to do and see during the reception and we’ll have a contest and then the keynote and book signing that will fill your evening with fun and inspiration!

Q – I don’t know who Stacy Julian is…why should I come?
A - Stacy is a very inspirational speaker, and a wonderful author.  We invited her because each and every one of us on the management team has learned to scrapbook more, and with more passion and fun - after reading her book - than ever before.  As we like to say - she takes the "guilt" out of Scrapbooking - you'll have to come and see her or read her book to understand what I mean by that!

Q – What should I wear?
A - This event is considered "business casual" (In other words - no holey jeans - we want this to be a classy time!!)

Q – This costs twice as much as a class, and I don’t get any product?  What am I getting for my money?
A - We think it is worth your investment and time - but what you'll take away will be inspiration -not products!

That being said - there will be vendors with displays previewing what they will have on the show floor for you to visit.  Most will have coupons good on the show floor that are only available to Opening Ceremonies attendees - some may also have giveaways - but it is not a requirement.  We also have prizes to give away at the event, and there will be at least one big contest that will be announced after registration is underway.

Please note, the Opening Ceremonies party will NOT take place in the Exhibit Hall, and is not an opportunity to preview the booths.  The Opening Ceremonies party will be held in Hall B of the Rock Financial Showplace.
